Charming folks in fine summer whites dress the out of doors. Delicate straw hats adorn prim summer bobs and fetching chignons. Visions of smiling ladies sitting under gauzy Spanish moss draped upon ancient oaks cheer the day.
It is the tradition to choose a drop waist dress in gauzy silk voile, cotton lawn, or linen muslin, and it is in perfect keeping with propriety. It is perfectly fitting and appropriate to choose a lovely sandal for the occasion. A fine little kitten heel d'Orsay is the utmost in charm and decorum.
Dear Searcy,
ReplyDeleteOh how I have hoped and waited for the day I would find that you had returned. I am so sorry it is loss that has kept you and wish you continued sweetness in your sorrow. I have regretted never introducing myself because I adore your blog and have missed your centuried wisdom terribly.
My oldest daughter will be Kindergarten age in the fall and we have enrolled her in the very nice, very near public school in our little town. I stay home, she has never been to preschool, and I cried my eyes out on registration day two months ago. I long for more of your posts on classical education at home and for the courage to provide the same for my children (and for myself in the process).
I'm so grateful you are well.
Sincerely,
Laura
"To the lawns!" ... heavenly!
ReplyDeleteDearest Laura,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind comment.
Oh, Laura, you and your little one are in my thoughts and prayers.
I will gladly post on classical education and homeschooling.
In fact, I will probably post all of the lessons I will use as we go along.
Dear Katie,
Thank you for your comment. Oh, it seems so long ago that one may remain out-of-doors past early morning.
